OWNERS INFORMATION

OPERATION

Chain Mechanisms – may require 2 hands for a smooth operation until the chain is broken in.  Use one hand to pull down on the chain while the other hand is used as a counter pull on the opposite side of the chain.

Appearance – When minor ripples or dimples are present in Mylar material, they should disappear after the shade has been hanging straight and/or has been in the sun for a while.  Edge curl (sides of the film curling in or out) appears occasionally.  This minor curl is a characteristic of Mylar and should be accepted.

Cleaning – Mylar film cleaning should be done with a non-abrasive, ammonia free cleaner or an alcohol base cleaner and a soft cloth.  Dry paper towels are considered abrasive.  For spot cleaning the shade, leave it in the hanging position.  Be gentle so not to pull the shade from the brackets.  Wiping down the top of the steel roller as you pull the shade down will clean the backside of the film.  For a thorough cleaning, the shades should be rolled up tight then removed from the brackets.  Unroll the shade onto a clean, hard, flat surface.  Do not touch the film without soft gloves or a cloth covering your hands.  To insure proper spring tension after cleaning, wind the shade back up to its original position and re-install.  Sheer Weave can be cleaned with a cloth, sponge or soft brush using soap and water.  Shake off excess water then air or towel dry.
